The New Jersey Children’s Health Project, launched in May 2007, is a collaboration between the Children’s Health Fund (CHF) and the UMDNJ- SN Mobile Healthcare Project. This innovative, collaborative outreach effort works in partnership with CHF, the clinical affiliates of UMDNJ, and community-based organizations. The Project is staffed by a team of healthcare professionals who travel to underserved neighborhoods to provide primary and preventive healthcare services to residents of all ages. Individuals who receive services through the Project are not billed for their care. The Project is expected to serve thousands of residents in its first year of operation. The aim of the Project is to break down the financial, social, cultural, and transportation barriers that prevent people from seeking proper healthcare and to fill the gap in linking people in need to available resources.
